Sheet Brass Militia Belt Plate Circa 1840-1860

Eagle belt plate as used by many militia officers. Measures 2-1/4″ x 3-3/8″. Die stamped sheet brass featuring central eagle with thirteen stars around edge. Attractive face retaining most of its original gilt finish. Back retains sheet brass belt hook soldered in place and belt loop at opposite end with two brass keepers.
