Japanese Naval Officer Dagger

A wartime example of the Model 1883 Japanese naval officer dirk. The overall length is approximately 16 inches with a blade length of 8 inches. The plated machined blade shows surface rust along the lengths of both sides. The pommel cap, ferrule, guard and scabbard fittings all have the dark patina of uncleaned brass. The grip is imitation ray skin. The dagger has the button on the upper scabbard fitting which is depressed to remove the dagger. The scabbard itself is metal, painted black, with the metal surface being pebbled in texture. The black scabbard paint is approximately 60% intact.
