Rare Inner Mongolia Military Merit Badge 1st Class

The Free Mongolia government was set up in Chahar in 1938 under Prince Teh Wang a lineal descendant of Genghis Khan. A puppet state of Japan which existed from 1938-1945. This government awarded a Military Merit Decoration which, was designed and produced in Japan and corresponded to the Golden Kite. The badge measures 1-7/8″ X 1-7/8″, double pin reverse which reads 'Military Merit'. Excellent enamels and retains most of its gilt finish. The reverse exhibits an area of scratches, the result of a gold test.
