Handwritten Letter of Admiral of the Navy George Dewey

The letter is approximately 5-3/8 inches by 6-7/8 inches when closed. The letter is completely handwritten in ink on the stationary of the 'Office of the Admiral of the Navy', a rank only ever held by Dewey. The letter is dated '5th Aug.' but without a year, although the letter would have been written during or after 1903, when Dewey was promoted to the rank of Admiral of the Navy. The letter shows a vertical and a horizontal fold line. The letter is signed 'George Dewey' and it is legible, intact, and in very good condition.
