Eagle Head Pommel Sword with Gilt and Blued Decorated Blade

Available
$950.00

Description

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 inches, with a blade length of approximately 30 inches. The blade has fullers on both sides, and approximately 15 inches of each side of the blade is blued with gilt decorations to include an American eagle 'E Pluribus Unum' crest and a panoply of arms. The sword has a brass D guard with eagle head pommel and open winged eagle langets on both sides. The sword grip shows a crack along its length on one side. The leather scabbard is dry and shows typical flaking, with two suspension rings on the throat and center mounts. The brass throat slides off of the top of the scabbard. The scabbard itself has experienced some shrinkage such that the sword is not completely received into the scabbard when it is sheathed.
