American Federal Period Officer's Bicorn Hat with Box

The bicorn hat shows age and use, with some separations and wear to the exterior surfaces, but it retains its distinctive shape and characteristic appearance as a striking example of an American military officer's hat of the Federal period. The officer's eagle rosette on the upper side shows some loss of material. The interior lining is somewhat tattered, and a section of the interior side headband has become detached from the interior. The cardboard hat box similarly shows age and wear, with separations and soiling, but it is fairly complete as a whole.
