1861 Presentation Cane to the Police Chief of Reading, Pennsylvania, from the State Legislature

Approximately 37 inches in overall length, inclusive of the rubber cap on the base. The finish shows some scuffs and scratches but overall it is in very good condition, with the engraved silver presentation plaque mounted onto the front of the cane handle. Howard L. Miller served as the Chief of Police of Reading from 1861 to 1863, and then as Reading Health Commissioner from 1874 to 1882. Very good condition.
