US Civil War Cartridge Box Shoulder Strap, Maker Marked

Original era manufacture. Black bridle leather shoulder strap which was buckled into place on the Civil War .58, or .69 caliber Infantry cartridge boxes. The leather is quite pliable for its age, no flaking to its black surface, and faint New York makers name on one end. Purchased as part of the collection of a 94 year old local WWII veteran, who collected Civil War memorabilia for most of his life.
