1919 GAR Department of Massachusetts Transfer Certificate for a Veteran of the 9th Maine Infantry Regiment

The certificate is approximately 8-7/8 inches by 11-3/8 inches. The certificate permitted Frank Allen Forbes to transfer his membership from Massachusetts Charles Lyon Chandler Post No. 143 to another GAR post. The certificate attests to Forbes' Civil War service as a member of the 9th Maine Regiment. The document has faint vertical fold lines and penciled annotations on the reverse, but overall it is in very god condition.
