Brass 'Public Property' Powder Flask

Description

Contracted by the US Army in 1825 to James Baker of Philadelphia for 2000 flasks. Approximately 8-1/4 inches long overall. The flask has a raised relief bugle on each side, with one side bearing the raised designation of 'Public Property'. The flask has a dark, uncleaned patina and areas of verdigris. The spout lever is functional. The flask shows multiple dents and indentations.
