German Stag Grip Folding Bowie Knife

The knife has an overall length when open of approximately 12 inches, with the blade itself being approximately 7-1/2 inches long. The clipped point blade exhibits a gray patina with scattered freckling and some pitting, The ricasso is marked 'Germany' and it has a partial maker mark that appears to be the head of an animal. The knife has silvered bolsters with stag grip plates that are held in place by 6 brass pins on each side. There is a silvered shield escutcheon on obverse grip. The blade locks when folded, and the blade release lever functions easily. The knife is within its original leather sheath, which while showing age remains supple. The retention cross strap at the top of the sheath has a torn end and it is missing the female section of the snap closure.
