Third Reich Schutzpolizei Wachtmeister NCO Tunic

The tunic is tailored from a service quality wool in the blue-green color of the German police. The shoulders carry the slip-on rank boards of a Wachtmeister in the Schutzpolizei. The left sleeve bears the machine embroidered green police eagle which is hand sewn to the tunic. On the upper left breast is the single ribbon bar for the 1939 War Merit Cross with Swords, a decoration that was frequently given to police personnel who were involved in anti-partisan actions. The ribbon bar is pinned through a short set of loops. The interior lining has a separation at the top below the collar. The tunic is generally clean and, while it shows signs of actual wear and use, with some subtle spots and surface soiling, it is without stains, or distracting issues. There is a small period repair of a hole on the lower left front, and the tunic exhibits typical wear to the wool nap, but overall the tunic is in very good condition.
