US Indian War Era, M1873 Entrenching Tool

Original era manufacture. A very clean example, bright steel finished blade, with an turned oak grip. Leather covered, metal bodied scabbard with a carrying/attaching ring on the reverse. Quite sound for its age, no corrosion on the blade, and the leather scabbard stitching is tight, with no flaking to the leather surface. A previous owner, perhaps the soldier, carved his name into one side of the scabbard.
