Japanese Tanto, Cut-Down Sword Blade, Wood Grip & Scabbard

Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 12 inches in length, 17 inches overall to the bottom of the grip. There is a blood groove on the reverse, and two smaller grooves on the obverse of the blade, with a few scattered nicks along the edge. Hand made wooden grip which holds the blade in place with wire and a touch of solder. Handmade wooden scabbard fits the blade properly. We have not tried to remove the blade to inspect for markings, it is held quite securely in place.
