SOLDOriginal WWII Japanese Officer's Sword (Tanto) Brought Home By A U.S. Soldier Certified. A small 'suicide sword' called a Tanto. Fair condition to exterior. fair condition blade. Overall length is approximately 16 inches. Blade length is approximately 11 inches, Grip is approximately 4 1/4 inches. This is a tanto style. looks like this was a hand forged blade. The fittings and assembly are late 19th to early 20 Century vintage. There is light damage to the blade and was sharpened. The grip top is loose and detached. The silk under the string wrap is indicative of this tanto being intended for use. Some paint splatter on the scabbard (could be removed) Please see the photos for more information and the condition.
