Cased WWII Senior Japanese Army Officer Dress Cap

The cap is constructed of a high quality black wool, with gold rank braid around the circumference and on the top. The front displays the Imperial Army sun insignia. The red and white feathered plume is present with the cap. The surface of the visor exhibits typical age crazing. The body of the cap is very clean, without holes or damage. The interior leather sweatband is present, having some tears and scuffs. The silk lining remains intact in the crown of the cap. The cap is contained within its fabric and leather carrying case, which shows scuffs and soiling but which is intact. The leather closure strap is torn at the end, precluding the strap from being placed into the buckle on the lid of the case. Overall the cap is in excellent service used condition.
