Description

The katana has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 33 inches, with a blade length of approximately 20 inches. The blade shows a faint temper line, with the blade exhibiting spots, scratches, and inclusions, as well as a film of surface grime, but the blade is without nicks, chips, or active rust. The katana is in civilian mounts, with the combat leather scabbard cover indicating a family sword that was taken to war. The grip is wrapped in the traditional style with blue-gray fabric. beneath the fabric wrapping are two figural menuki and a sharkskin covering. The iron tsuba guard is pierced and decorated, while the tang is unsigned. The scabbard is lacquered wood, with a small chip at the throat, and it is contained within a leather combat cover which shows scuffs and scrapes but which is intact and includes a single cover scabbard ring.
