WWII Japanese Model 1883 Naval Officer Dagger

The blade shows spots of plating loss on both sides. The celluloid imitation shark skin grip shows age toning, surface soiling throughout and missing its wire wrap. The grip has the brass cherry blossom insignia on both sides. The scabbard has a push button release on the upper scabbard fitting. The leather covered scabbard shows scuffs and abrasions. Most all of the brass components of the dagger, to include the ferrule, pommel, and the scabbard fittings, show a toned gilt finish with patina and green verdigris.
