Japanese Type 19 Company Grade Officer Sword

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 35 inches, with a blade length of approximately 29 inches. The plated blade is generally bright, with a clear artificial temper line, while showing surface dirt and typical spots and scratches. The pierced guard has three cherry blossoms. The gilt brass pommel and guard exhibit some verdigris and loss of the gilt finish. The celluloid grip is without chips or cracks, and it is triple wrapped in brass wire, with one strand of the wire being broken. The scabbard shows substantial wear to the plated finish, and dark discoloration in the areas of plating loss.
