Japanese Army Type 19 Army Cavalry Officer Sword with Silver Mon Family Crest

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 26 inches, with a blade length of approximately 25-1/2 inches. The light ray skin grip is wrapped in toned brass wire. The guard and pommel retain the gilt finish and make a fine appearance. The back strap of the grip bears a silver Mon family crest. The sword has a scabbard latch but the push button for the latch is missing from the ferrule. The plated scabbard shows scratches and minor wear, but the plating is largely intact. Overall the sword is in excellent condition.
