Japanese Meiji Era Line Infantry Shako Insignia

The brass insignia has uncleaned patina with some verdigris on the surfaces. The tube on the reverse side held the feather plume that was worn on the dress uniform visor cap. Attachment pins are missing. 2-1/8″ X 2-1/8″.
