WWII Imperial Japanese Navy Legal Officer Visor Cap

Available
$750.00

Description

The visor cap shows typical age crazing to the surface of the leather visor. The cap itself is in very good condition, without holes or tears. The cap band shows wear to spots on the exterior surface. The cap band is piped in the lighter green of the Imperial Navy Legal Corps (Chief Carpenters using a dark green piping). The gold bullion cap insignia is toned with age. The interior leather sweatband shows wear and age but it is complete and intact, as is the full celluloid sweat shield on the interior. The front displays the well toned gold bullion insignia of a navy officer. The use of colored branch piping by the Navy on its visor caps was a short lived practice and surviving examples of such caps are quite scarce.
