Cased Imperial Japanese Presentation Plaque

An Imperial Presentation Plaque presented as a gift from the Emperor. The metal, framed plaque is approximately 6 by 8 inches and is fitted with an easel on the reverse for display. It is contained within a leather case that is recessed and fitted to receive the plaque. A silver metal clasp secures the lid of the case. The case exhibits some scuffing and minor damage to the left rear corner where a small piece has broken free of the case. A very impressive and dramatic Imperial presentation gift.
