Waffen-SS Jerrycan - Sandrik

Waffen-SS 20 liter Jerrycan (Kraftstoff Kanister). The classic 'Jerry' can design was originally adopted by the German Armed forces around 1937 and was so successful that the allies valued captured cans and based their own on the same design. Each side of the can has a large impressed strength reinforcing 'X'. The can is nicely marked with 'Kraftstoff 20l, Feuergefährlich' (Fuel 20 liters,inflammable). The jerrycan is maker marked by 'Sandrik' and nicely marked with the recognizeable SS runes. The jerrycan has been repainted in a grey colour, impossible to tell if it was period done or in the early post-war years, the paint however has been on the jerrycan for a very long time and is showing a nice patina, see photos. These original SS Jerrycans are extremely hard to find!
