WW2 German Wehrmacht Schutzfenster – DRIVER VISION PORT – Sd.Kfz. 251 – NICE!

You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Wehrmacht Sd.Kfz 251Schutzfenster (Lange) für Fahrerklappe (Long Protective Window for Driver Vision Port).This assembly mounted inside the driver front vision flapin the Sd.Kfz. 251 and later Sd.Kfz. 11 (Flak) Half Tracks.The Schutzfenster was used during wet or poor weather conditions, allowing the driver to maintain forward visibility. It contained a reinforced laminated glass, fitted inside a steel housing with mounting brackets and hand-operated wiper arms.Made of a steel frame, this item is in VERY NICE relic condition! There is some slight rust and corrosion, but it is still VERY solid! Though it is missing the glass and wipers, it could easily be restored to functioning condition. I was going to restore this for my Sd.Kfz. 251/9 project, but ended up finding a nicer one. Still retains MUCH of the original Dunkelgelb camouflage paint! Used in the vision ports for the driver, I have indicated its location in the last photos. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
