SOLDVERY RARE WW2 POLAND AUSCHWITZ COMMEMORATIVE CROSS FOR PRISONERS SURVIVORS OF NAZI CAMPS Medal And I.D. Grouping Certified. an original 1980's era Poland Auschwitz Cross commemorative medal, as awarded to survivors of the notorious Nazi death camp from WW2. 42mm wide silvered metal Greek cross with laterally pierced ring for ribbon suspension; the face with fence posts and barbed wire with an inverted red triangle imposed bearing the letter 'P' as worn by Polish camp prisoners; the reverse inscribed 'RP' (Polish Republic) and 'WIĘŹNIOM HITLEROWSKICH OBOZÓW KONCENTRACYJNYCH' (To the prisoners of Hitlerite concentration camps); on original ribbon representative of the clothing worn by prisoners. The Cross was instituted by order of the State Council (Rada Panstwa) on march 14 1985 and awarded to former prisoners of Auschwitz and other Nazi Camps.
