QSA 1899-1902 With clasps for Talana, Defence of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing's Nek & WW1 PairTo- 1157.PTE.W.MURTACH.K.R.R.C (QSA)& 442454.SPR.W.F.MURTACH.R.EWilliam.F.Murtach from Wilmslow, Cheshire was born 1867 & served with the 1st K.R.R.C during the Boer war at the battle of Talana & at the Defence of Ladysmith. He went on to serve with the Royal Engineers in WW1. He died in 1920 and his widow made a pension claim whilst living at Chapel lane, Wimslow, Cheshire.GVF with a very tiny ek to the QSA & complete with MIC & medal roll details
