GVR 1st type WW1 Military Cross & 1914 star trio with original August to November 1914 clasp & M.I.D OakleavesTo- LIEUT / CAPT.J.C.ANDREWS.9/LOND.RJames Collingwood Andrews first landed in France 5-11-1914 serving with the 9th battalion of the London Regiment / Queen Victoria's rifles. He was twice mentioned in despatches for services in France in the London gazette 1-1-1916 & 15-6-1916 & this was followed by the award of the Military Cross also for services in France in the London gazette 1-1-1918. He was a resident of Hampstead & when he applied for the issue of his campaign medals he was was initially living at 16 Heath Drive Hampstead but went on to reside at 26 Fortune Green road, Hampstead.NEF & Court mounted for display. The award of the clasp & roses for the recipients 1914 star is confirmed on his MIC. Complete with MIC details, London gazette details, copy service records & battalion history details.
