WW1 Australian Commonwealth Military Forces Cap Badge

Here on offer is a WW1 Australian Commonwealth Military Forces Cap Badge.This Australian army 'Rising Sun' badge is made from pressed brass and now has a age patina to the finish.The front depicts a radiating pattern representing sun with a King's crown at the centre and inscribed banner across bottom, that reads:AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTHMILITARY FORCESOn the reverse it has two lugs and its original split pin, used to secure the badge to a slouch hat.Rising sun badges were used on Australian military uniforms as hat badges and collar badges (smaller). This badge has been used by the Australian army since 1902, undergoing seven different design phases.
