Naval Officers Masonic lodge women's silver compact with a hallmarked silver date being 1925 mirror is in lovely condition .Two scrolls reading 'PER ARDUA FORTI' (Latin: 'By hard work, to the brave' or 'Through struggle, strength')The Naval Officers Lodge No. 4436 was established under the United Grand Lodge of England in the early 1920s. It drew members from Royal Navy officers and those with naval affiliations.The makers stamp appears to be M & W for Mappin & Webb who often supplied fine presentation items to Masonic lodges, regiments, and associations — everything from silver goblets to compacts and cigarette cases.
