WW2 German General Staff Officers Peaked Cap

A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most sought after German officers peaked caps with carmine coloured piping for General Staff officers.The carmine piped Staff Officers cap is distinctively different from the red waffenfarbe of artillery when placed side by side. Constructed from fine quality doeskin wool it has silver bullion eagle & cockade , both originally stitched to the cap . Interior has celluloid diamond with maker name 'Hammaburg' & 'Meisterstuck Extraklasse' referring to its expensive high quality specification as provided by the tailor who made it to 'Extraklasse' standards. The champagne lining matches the underside of the cross hatched peak with perforations to forehead area of the sweatband intended to aid in ventilation when worn. To the underside of the peak can be seen the thumb print of the wearer from repeated wear of the cap.Condition of this cap is excellent.
