A scarce original First World War period 'On His Majestys Service officially numbered war workers badge'; gilt brass title strap 'O.H.M.S.' inlaid with blue enamel, domed Royal Arms to centre, the reverse impressed with official issue number '1234' and complete with original pin fittings, normally associated with a ladies issue. Good condition, minor service wear to centre.Diameter approx 27mm.On His Majesty's Service O.M.H.S. war service badge, believed to have been worn by administration staff of the early 'Forage Corps' (WW1 affiliated to Army Service Corps) to provide hay etc. to the army horses.
