WH (Heer) Paratrooper Death Notice

Death notice (Sterbebild). A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. This is a death notice for Obergefreiter 'Karl Lindner' who served in a Fallschirmjäger Regiment. He was killed in action on 8th January 1945 at the western front. The Volksbund lists him as buried in Niederbronn-les-Bains, France (at the edge of the Vosges Mountains). This death notice measures approximately 10 x 6 cms in size.
