WW2 British Family Medals. Carmarthen. POW?

Two boxed medals to one family named Thomas from Carmarthen. The first box is named to a Mr E.Thomas, Brongwyn, Carmarthen, with his entitlement slip for the Defence medal only, comes with medal and ribbon. The second box is named to a Mr D.B.Thomas, 21 Longacre Road Carmarthen, with his entitlement slip awarding him the War Medal only, comes with medal and ribbon. Sorry but no other information was gathered when i purchased this set last week at my local flee market. I presume the Defence medal was Home Guard?? As for the War medal, as the box was issued by the RA field records perhaps an early war capture and POW. This is guess work on my behalf folks as i have no facility for research.
