Description

Original period manufacture.Woven canvas belt with 45 loops for 45-70 cartridges. Brass frame single prong buckle, secured to the belt body by a section of black leather. Uncut, 14.5 inch black leather tongue, displaying faint Rock Island Arsenal markings, and a fairly clear set of inspector initials W.T.G. at the tip. Below the 12th loop is a leather loop, riveted to the belt body, securing a brass loop, with a suspension hook for saber scabbard suspension ring. The belt is very sound, pliable, stitching is secure.
