US Spanish American War Era 45 Star American Flag, 4.5x7.5', 1896-1908

Original period manufacture. All cotton construction with individually machine-sewn stripes and stars, white canvas hoist with two brass grommets. Scattered staining and evidence of use, with a 3x4 inch section missing from the upper right corner of the flag. This pattern of flag was in service during the years of 1896 to 1908, after the admission of the state of Utah, then changed in 1908 after the state of Oklahoma was admitted to the Union.
