A scarce original circa pre-1962 period 'Central Middlesex County Hospital gilt and enamel badge award'; large blue enamel title surround bearing red cross to centre, with an applied 'Middlesex County Council convex shield to centre bearing Saxon Crown with three white seaxes (short Saxon swords) below; the reverse impressed with pre -1962 maker's details 'TOYE & CO LONDON'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no defects to the enamel,gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.Diameter approx 32mm.
