WW2 German Wehrmacht EM/NCO Tropenhelm Abzeichen – TROPICAL PITH HELMET SHIELD

You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a 100% ORIGINAL German Wehrmacht Tropenhelm Abzeichen (Tropical Pith Helmet National Tri-Colored Shield), as used in conjunction with the EM/NCO Tropical Pith Helmet!During the North African campaign, both the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe quickly developed specialized equipment for the Afrika Korps in the beginning of 1941. Though used extensively, they were not a popular design, and manufacture was halted in 1942/43. Produced in both a green and tan felt variation.Made of a die stamped aluminum, this tri-colored national shield is in EXCELLENT used condition! Features a slightly pebbled background shield shape base with a raised lip to the outer edges and three diagonally angled national colors in black, silver, (white), and red. The reverse of the shield has all three attachment prongs intact. Some slight marks and wear, due to the age. A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
