Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE and 100% ORIGINAL example of a pre-WW2 1924Cadillac V-63 C Engine / Patent Plate! These were typically mounted on the firewall (engine side), or on the upper left of the cowl panel, just above the steering column.Introduced for 1924,the V-63 represented one of the most important milestones in early Cadillac engineering. It was the first Cadillac to feature the new 90-degree V-8 with a true cross-plane crankshaft, producing exceptional smoothness and power for its time. The V-63 was offered in several formal body styles, including touring, sedan, and limousine variants, and set a new standard for luxury performance in the mid-1920s. Built by the Cadillac Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, each vehicle carried a unique identification plate stamped with its model and engine number for registration and patent documentation.Made of aluminum in 1924 by theCadillac Motor Car Company Detroit, this Data Plate is in EXCELLENT used condition! There are some slight marks and wear, but nothing that detracts. All the information is clearly legible. It is stamped,'63 C' and '2563', denoting a V-63-series Cadillac, as well as the complete block of U.S. and foreign patent references used by Cadillac during that era. Most likely from a Limousine or Sedan. The plate has the original four mounting holes and period wear consistent with authentic mid-1920s manufacture. I have shown its location in the last photo.Would be a PERFECT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
