Rare Victorian white metal officers shako plate with two loops to the reverse. A pair of crossed Welsh Leeks and the number, '2' to the centre of a crowned circlet bearing the title, ' Montgomeryshire Rifles ' within a wreath of oak and the furled scroll, ' Volunteers'. {Formed in Welshpool in 1861 and became 5th. Volunteer Battalion South Wales Borderers in 1881}
