US Civil War M1840 NCO Sword, Ames 1861, WWII Vet Estate

Original era manufacture. Standard pattern M1840 NCO sword made by Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee Massachusetts in 1861. Polished steel blade measuring 32 inches in length, the blade runs straight and true, scattered spotting and staining from age but no damage. A solid example with a very early war date, no doubt this one could tell some stories. No scabbard. This sword was one of many souvenirs and relics purchased from the family of  WWII Corporal R.D.Easler, 3468th Ordnance Company, US Army.
