WWI Imperial German Model M1898/05 Butcher Blade Bayonet by Anker-Werke

Available
$275.00

Description

The blade is generally clean, showing spots of old dried oil and surface dirt, but it is without nicks, chips or active rust. Blade has been arsenal reworked removing the saw blade spine. The ricasso bears the firm name of Anker-Werke. The spine has the imperial cypher and it is undated. The bayonet is the model with a flash guard on the grip spine and with the vestigial 'ears' of the muzzle ring. The wood grip plates show age and patina, with pock marks from field use, with a closed vertical crack on one side. The guard and the pommel show age and uncleaned patina. The pommel bears waffen amt marks. The scabbard shows age, but the finish is largely intact. Overall the bayonet is in good field used condition.
