WW2 German Luftwaffe – PILOT SURVIVAL MACHETE – SAWBACK – ALCOSO – Me109 – RARE!

You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Survival SAWBACK Machete!Issued with the aircraft survival kits, it was standard for pilots and crew members who served in tropical climates.It also comes complete with the original scabbard!Made of wood and steel, this German Tropical Survival Machete is in GOOD used condition!Made between 1940 and 1942 by AWS Alcoso, there are some slight marks and wear due to the age, as well as some rolling from someone hitting it against something hard. The pitting (caused by improper storage) is not as pronounced or as deep as the photos suggest, and should buff out quite easily. The wood handle side plates have shrunken slightly from humidity. Needs a good clean-up. The manufacture logo has faded away over time. The scabbard is original to this blade and matches in condition. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
