1912 Dated Imperial German Model 1894 / 1898 Sawback Blade Bayonet by C.G. Haenel with Frog and Knot

The sawback blade of the bayonet is generally quite clean and fairly bright in appearance, showing spots and scratches but without nicks, chips or active rust. The ricasso bears the mark of the C.G. Haenel Company of Suhl. The spine is dated '12'. The guard retains the vestigial 'ears'from the removal of the bayonet socket, while the spine of the grip is without a flash guard. The guard retains some of the finish, while the pommel finish is largely intact. The light wooden grip plates exhibit age and pock marks from carrying wear, but they are without chips or cracks. The black leather scabbard and the frog show age, being somewhat dry and with flaking, but both being intact. The bayonet knot has soiling but it is complete. Overall very good condition.
