Victory Medal, named to:3-10812 PTE.G.CHASE.NORF.R.Medal about good very fine, on original ribbon.3/10812 Private George Chase, 1st Battalion Norfolk Regt, was killed in action on 4th August, 1915.He was born at Ruston, Norfolk and enlisted in Norwich.He is buried at Norfolk Cemetery, Becordel-Belcourt.He is also commemorated on The Scottow War Memorial.According to various sources, Private George Chase was the first soldier of The Norfolk Regiment to be killed in action on The Somme, his unit taking over from the French at Fricourt on the 2nd August.
