Description

1st Pattern Step-in type Luftwaffe Paratrooper Smock (Fallschirmschützenbluse) also known as 'Knochensack'. This is a rarely seen first pattern step-in type smock, made of the typical early green fabric (grünmeliert). The smocks were designed to fit over the standard service uniform and are therefore quite large. It is complete with all original and functional 'Rapid' marked zippers. The smock is nicely maker marked and dated 1941. The smock has been converted from a step-in type smock to a buttoned bottom as the later more practical model smocks. A nice detail is the small piece of 'Splittertarn' fabric used for the conversion. The smock is unfortunately showing some fading on he location of the breast-eagle, the breast-eagle is missing, see photos. The smock is showing normal traces of usage/staining and some small damages, see photos for details. The smock is in overall very good condition. Early smocks are hardly ever offered for sale. Hard to find desirable original Fallschirmjäger smock!
