Description
Spectacular SE66 M35 Heer double decal helmet in excellent condition. This helmet is a stunning example of a pre war Heer helmet in a large size 66 shell. The helmet retains its factory paint and decals up to 99%. The helmet retains its factory installed first pattern non reinforced liner dated 1935 with its additional round marking in the leather. The domestamp is nicely visible and reads 1936 indicating the date of assembly. The chinstrap is nicely marked Rahm & Kampmann and dated 1938. Even if its not dated 1938, most helmets where shipped to the Verwaltingslager without chinstraps and where issued separately of the helmet, to be attatched by the wearer. A number of images support this theory including one of a traincar in 1945 where US soldiers remove multiple helmets from the cardboard wrapping, all without chinstrap. This helmet is a near mint example that would be incredibly hard to upgrade and only rarely enters the open market. By far one of the best Heer helmets I have ever had the pleasure to offer and that I have seen out there. It would be a crown in any helmet collection; simply a textbook M35 in the best possible condition!
