British Victorian Era 1822 Light Cavalry Officers Sword, Ranken of Calcutta

Original era manufacture. Very clean 35 inch polished steel blade with etched and frosted panels on each side bearing the Queen's crown and cypher. Brass 'proved' disc on the obverse ricasso, Ranken & Co, Calcutta on the reverse. Three branch steel guard with a fishskin wrapped grip and triple wire binding. Dent free steel scabbard with two carrying rings and presenting a pleasing steel patina. Blade measures 25mm in width at the guard.
