WW2 German Double Erel Signals Officer Peaked Cap

A high quality private purchase Army officer peaked cap made by the prestigious German cap firm of the period 'Robert Lubstein' who used the trademark 'Erel'.'Erel' marked to sweatshield & headband signifying a high quality piece & therefore a ' Double Erel' cap it is constructed of a fine doeskin wool with lemon yellow waffenfarbe for signals troops. Officer chin cord intact. Interior is with champagne lining matching underside of peak & with celluloid sweatshield & leather headband marked ' Erel Sonderklasse Extra ' . Headband marked ' Erel 'Sitrnschutz DRGM , DRP Angem ' this indicating the forehead pressue release system incorporated in the front of the sweatband . There is a tear to the leather of the forehead area .In very good condition this cap shows moderate wear with only some light tracking in places noticeable upon close inspection only.
