Description

Azad Hind Medal w/Swords-This is a very scarce medal. This medal could have been awarded to Germans, or Indians. This military decoration was established in 1942 to reward the Indian Legion for bravery in battle. The cross swords at the top indicate this medal was for bravery. The ribbon features the Indian national colors, in green, white and orange. The obverse of the medal shows the tiger's head and the inscription 'Azad Hind' (Free India) with a lily below. This is made in bronze and has great details and tone. This is also called the Martyr for India badge and was also awarded to honor the fallen. A handsome medal and something we don't see every day.
